  • The free intro call allows us to meet each other without any financial burden on you. You should feel comfortable with me as your therapist, and the intro call helps you see if that can happen for you.

    I do have a flow for these calls though so there’s not any awkward space for you. When I confirm our call, you will receive an email link to click at the scheduled time so we can have a video call. Once we’re on the video call, I’ll introduce myself and confirm that you are you! Then, I will ask you to share what is going on and why you are wanting to start therapy. You can go into as much or little depth that is comfortable for you here.

    After you share what you are struggling with and what you are hoping to get out of therapy, I will talk about how my business runs (training, therapy modality, fees, policies, etc). We can discuss any questions you have, then schedule an intake session!

    After the intro call and we schedule an intake session, I will then give you access to your client portal website. This is how you will complete all the paperwork needed before our intake session. It should take less than 15 minutes!

  • Our sessions can look different from week to week. One thing I love to ask at the beginning of a session though, is what you need from the session? You might need to share what has happened in the past week, process a situation where you didn't act the way you wanted with your family, or you might be ready to go deep and work on trauma & your childhood that’s coming up in your parenting.

    I take all that into account, and I also make sure we are weaving in coping skills to help you learn to decrease the unwanted symptoms like racing heart and scary thoughts.

  • At the intake, we will discuss what your goals are for our time together. Like, what you want your life to feel like when I say goodbye. We will figure out ways to help you reach those goals and determine when we know that you have met them.

    Don’t worry! I walk you through all of this so you don’t need to have it all planned out! As we do that, I'm already thinking through the different techniques and tools that might be best for you and your goals.

    Long story short? This answer is different for everyone and I won't have a solid idea until the intake session. Even then, that plan is adapted as I continue to learn more about the way you go through your daily life and we figure out what coping skills work and don't work for you.

  • Individual sessions are 45 minutes.

    Intake and couple/family sessions are 50 minutes.

  • I ask clients to commit to 6 weeks of weekly sessions to ensure we can establish a relationship and a good foundation of coping before we start spacing out sessions.

    I also want to make sure I am helping you, so if we were to spread sessions out too early, we might spend the majority of session time processing what has happened in the past few weeks.

    I love getting a good download of events and how it played out for you, AND I want you to get the help you deserve by working on the coping and symptoms of the problem.

  • My clients are in therapy for about 6 months; some more, some less. Oftentimes, my clients start therapy for specific emotions or symptoms that started postpartum, like postpartum depression or anxiety. Once we begin to build coping skills and process what might be causing the symptoms, we find that the problem is based on messages they received growing up. This can elongate the process to full healing because it goes deeper than fixing the symptoms. Do you want to slap a band-aid on the wound or really care for and heal the wound properly?

  • I am not in network with insurance. I am a private pay practice.

    I want you and I to be in control of how often and how long your treatment is. No one else should tell you what you need or tell you that you don’t need therapy when you feel that you do. You are the expert on you, not me, not anyone else.

  • Yes! I can provide you with a Superbill (a detailed receipt) to submit to your insurance company so you can seek reimbursement. The possibility of reimbursement & amount (typically a percentage) reimbursed is dependent on your specific plan.

    If you want to know more about possible reimbursement, I recommend you call your insurance provider and ask about reimbursement for 90834 therapy sessions.

  • I don’t currently have a public office. Please show up virtually in your sloppy clothes with a mom-bun. If we’re being honest, you’re probably going to catch me that way a few times!
